Each massage I give is a melding of elements from Hawaiian Bodywork (Lomi Lomi), Swedish Massage, and various Deep Tissue techniques, as well as Passive and Active Stretching. I pull from all of these to tailor each massage session to my client’s needs at the time.
I love working with people with chronic pain, helping to identify imbalances in the body and together trouble-shooting to resolve underlying problems. I often work closely with clients in order to speed up the healing process of injuries as well as to help them better cope with and resolve stress and anxiety. I like to emphasize the crucial role that stress reduction can play in promoting every aspect of good health.
I also have a special interest in working with pregnant women– massage therapy is a powerful tool both pre-natally and postpartum, as well as during labor itself.
Touch is one of humanity’s first healing modalities and I believe deeply in the body’s ability to self-heal with the aid of expert therapeutic touch. This is especially possible with proper care. I encourage and educate those I work with to develop self-care techniques such as appropriate stretches and postural changes that can decrease pain and improve quality and ease of movement.
An effective massage should impact you on multiple levels, improving both your mental and physical well-being.
My massages tend to be slightly longer than 60 minutes. I allow time before and after for discussion, believing firmly that our rapport is an important part of our massage work together.
Out-calls are available for pregnant people, new moms and certain extenuating circumstances.
